(Web Desk) - Indian actor Kartik Aaryan has reflected on the intense physical transformation he underwent for his role in the film Chandu Champion, saying the experience taught him valuable lessons both personally and professionally.
In a recent Instagram post, Kartik said he stepped into the life of a man the world had forgotten, adding that the story helped him rediscover the true value of perseverance and determination.
According to the actor, the film is not only about a person who refuses to give up but also a journey of turning failures into success.
Kartik revealed that he underwent 14 months of rigorous boxing training and completely eliminated sugar from his diet to prepare for the role. He stressed that he achieved the transformation without using any prohibited weight-loss drugs.
The actor said he reduced his weight from 90 kilograms to 72 kilograms, shedding a total of 18 kilograms during the process.
Recalling the challenges he faced, Kartik said that at the beginning of his training he could not perform a single push-up. However, by the end of the programme, he was able to do push-ups with an additional 50 to 60 kilograms of weight.
He also highlighted major improvements in his agility, jumping ability and footwork, progressing from basic difficulties to mastering around 14 to 15 advanced techniques.
Kartik said the transformation was not merely physical, explaining that the demanding training and the character itself helped him develop greater confidence, resilience and mental strength.
Released in 2024, Chandu Champion was inspired by the life of an athlete whose journey of perseverance and achievement resonated with audiences across India.
